GOOD FRIDAY 2019

It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. (Jn 13,1). This initial phrase introduces the whole Passion and Death of Jesus. Jesus´ time has arrived, and he comes to it consciously, not led by circumstances but   with all the consequences. HIS GOAL IS TO SHOW UNCONDITIONAL LOVE; that is the kind of love to which we aspire in our relationships with others, no matter their nature This unconditional love which … Continue reading GOOD FRIDAY 2019

Continue reading ORACION DE LA NOCHE  JUEVES SANTO: GETSEMANÍ

Our sisters from the Nederlands share…

Continue reading Our sisters from the Nederlands share…

HOLY WEEK 2019

Margaret Ackland, The Last Supper, 1993, Acrylic. From Fisher, Judi, and Wood, Janet (eds), A Place at the Table: Women at the Last Supper, Joint Board of Christian Education, Melbourne, 1993 Some time ago, reflecting and praying with what we might call the synthesis of Jesus’ lifestyle or what constitutes the keys from where he experiences life, the desire bubbles-up within me as an interior invitation to develop with simplicity what comes together in my soul and in my body. How could I explain the keys to Jesus’ lifestyle? Tradition has done it by coining a term “evangelical counsels”. It … Continue reading HOLY WEEK 2019

Is Peace possible??? Why not?!

This Holy Week before Easter, in the readings even God is fed up, screaming at us all, as through the prophets again: ‘I have always been there for you!’ ‘I brought you safely through the Red Sea time and again!’ ‘I have given you everything …..what possibly could I have done more?’ ‘What more could I give to the human race than all the gifts in creation, the talents, ability to love and to reason, to live(!) life?!!?’ Why is it so difficult for we humans to achieve a lasting peace?! In the supermarket this morning here at the sea, … Continue reading Is Peace possible??? Why not?!

THE MEASURE OF LOVE IS LOVE WITHOUT MEASURE!

Here we offer a long and profound text for reflection at the threshold of Holy Week. The purpose is to set the tone, to prepare our hearts and practical minds for long  liturgies filled with gestures, rituals and Word that, I dare to say, it can be too much if we are not “ready”. From the wise hand of Prof. Teresa Takken, SFCC we enter in a thorough study of the parables, to comprehend Jesus and ourselves. We post the text in the original Dutch, in English and Spanish. From Holy Thursday through Easter Sunday we will post a Meditation … Continue reading THE MEASURE OF LOVE IS LOVE WITHOUT MEASURE!

Continue reading BUSCANDO SER PARTE DEL TODO

 PILGRIMAGE TO ONENESS

Vezelay,France These past days driving from Leuven to Bilbao I felt again deep in my body-soul that we are part of the whole:  The cosmos, the universe… watching the stars the night we spent at Vezelay, medieval burg or town where M .Magdalene’s body rests, or part of it in the form of relics. That beautiful night was almost magic: the stars, the smell of chimneys in the quiet cold streets, the moon smiling to us, pilgrims of the Ruah, seekers of the Lover, like her, Mary Magdalene, and  the moon, always walking in the night … Continue reading  PILGRIMAGE TO ONENESS
